Welcome to the 2010 AWA WORLD CONVENTION ™
I am delighted that you are visiting our page and I warmly welcome you to visit what I feel is the best AWA Convention ever ! We have all worked very hard this year and I believe that you will see this in what we are offering this year !
This year we are expanding the Convention to 4 1/2 days. We need this amount of time for all of the exciting activities we have planned. Think of us as 2 + 2 + 2, 2 dinners, 2 Auctions and 2 Flea Markets ! We have brought back our giant tent but increased the size by 400%. Our forums are NEW for 2010 and we have brought back an upscaled Luncheon for women only ! See our schedule to view all of the exciting events. I would be remiss in not introducing my assistant chairperson for 2010. Bill Zukowski will be working along with me to make this a super event. Bill has my total confidence. Bill has worked for many years to make this a great event. I am very happy to have you on the committee, Bill !
I would also like to take this space to mention a special new program we are having this year. Our Keynote Speaker, Carole Perry, W2MGP in conjunction with the Radio Club of America has a special education outreach program. Carole taught technology for years in the Public School System using Amateur Radio. After seeing her students at the Dayton Hamfest i was so moved that I wanted to do something for this project. According the AWA has set up a method of donating cash or serviceable amateur radio equipment. We call this program "Give a Kid A Rig". Please go to the tab and find out more about this program.
The AWA World Convention will be held from Tuesday August 17 through Saturday August 21, 2010. We will again be located at The RIT Inn and Conference Center, 5257 W. Henrietta Rd. W. Henrietta N.Y. 14586. The phone for making reservations is 585.359.1800. Make sure that you mention that you are attending the AWA Convention. We offer free High Speed wireless internet inside the RIT Inn and in all areas of the Flea Market!
